What Was The View Of Sex And Menstruation Before About 1958?

I need to interview someone over 60 and write a paper about the differences in menstruation and sex from then and now. Post an answer if you can help me out.

Don’t have that many years under my belt (pun intended), but check out that stand up routine that Whoopi Goldberg did I think in 2006, it’s a 3 part monologue with the second part being a character who talks about getting her period for the first time and the old fashioned devices used to clean the area back then.
    lemme look on youtube, brb
    Darn can’t find anything

Tampax was invented in 1937 by a male gynecologist who thought menstruation is filthy.
Taboo? Yes it was and why was it?
It’s because of that stupid false Adam and Eve myth that’s why!
Also human beings started off with menstruation so their blood stream is no different from what goes in tampons and/or maxi’s.

As the subject was pretty taboo back then, you might find it hard to interveiw a woman willing to be candid about such subjects. Although if you can, try to interveiw as many as posible, it’s far better to get some different veiwpoints, rather than just the one.
